First Fermenstation
First Fermenstation was held on April 28 and 29, 2010 titled ‘A Delicious Trip to Fermented Foods’. The first Fermenstation served fermented foods from all around Indonesia such as samu fish from Kalimantan, tempoyak from Padang, tempe gambus from Central Java, and also terasi. In addition to foods that are popular and unique from its origin, students also displayed nata de banana from banana’s skin and cheese from soy milk which has been standardized and were innovations from microbiology students class of 2007.
Tempoyak is a fermented food often consumed in Sumatera. This food is made by fermenting durian seasoned with salt for 3 to 5 days. Tempoyak tastes sweet, sour, and salty.
